Golden Fox is one of my favorite company's. They make quality boots and sell them at reasonable prices. I just received my 3rd pair of boots from them. This time I went with the Moc Toe Classic. You can find my review of their Arizona Chukka's Here. First, here are a few pics.
I have a week of wear on these bad boys and I am loving them! These boots are simply cool. Red Wing Boots made this style popular and the look has retained its "cool factor" through the decades. Golden Fox nails the look and retains much of the quality at a fraction of the cost.
The boots are constructed with high quality leather. That is often not the case with boots can you buy at the same price point ($81). As you know, low quality work or casual boots can be really crappy. The sole of these boots are made with an oil resistant Goodyear welt. They hold up well. The insole is removable but why would you want to remove them? They make the boot super comfy.
Overall, these boots are awesome. I will be wearing them as a casual boot, but they would get you through a year or two of hard work as well. These boots can be resoled if you are into that sort of thing. The leather will certainly outlast the sole. For me, buying new or resoling will depend on how well the leather ages.
Considering price and quality I plan on skipping over Red Wing, Wolverine, and others, in favor of my trusty Golden Fox Boots. Pick some up today.

These boots fit as expected right out of the box...if sized properly. I will share my boot size in other brands: I wear a size 9.5m in Double H western boots, a size 9.5m in Ariat western/work-boots. I wear a 9.5 in Clark's desert boots, and finally a size 9m in Thorogood's similarly styled moc toe boots. I am a size 9.5 in Converse Chuck taylor's. I ordered these boots size 9 and they fit me very well if not perfectly length-wise and feel roomy width-wise, but this is the nature of the boot. These might feel more comfortable out of the box than the Thorogoods because of the softer leather. That being said, they are comfortable and need maybe a half hour to break them in. I do landscaping maintenance work during the weekends but I will be using these boots mostly for school (I walk around 2 miles around campus). The leather is very nicely tanned and buttery soft but stable. It also smells great! The Brun color looks way better in person. The sole is very cushy and quiet on all types of floors. These are more comfortable than some sneakers I have worn in the past. This is my first pair of boots I buy from Golden Fox and I will definitely purchase another pair when they are available in different colors.
